iféa, finding fulfilment through education

Supporting children by giving them an education that is both caring and challenging, to help them find fulfilment in a 21st century they will help build.

About iféa

Schools have not been evolving at the pace of the major scientific, socioeconomic, and environmental challenges our young people will face in the future. This is why we imagined a new model of private secular schools, from Year 2 to Year 13: iféa schools. Their objective is to help all children reach their full potential by acquiring a solid foundation of knowledge and skills that will help them find fulfilment in their adult life and together, face the challenges of their generation.

Our educational approach

Because every child is unique, specialised teaching in small classes has a central place in our approach, which is both caring and challenging. We follow French state education programmes, however they are adapted, particularly in English, so as to foster bilingualism both in primary school, and in sciences, where expectations are higher. Project-based learning, interdisciplinarity, and key stage cycles are also favoured. Citizenship education and openness to the world play an important role in our educational project.

School life

Our method rethinks both school rhythms and how after-school clubs and extracurricular activities are organised. At Émilie du Châtelet, lessons start at 8:40 in primary school, and at 9 in secondary school. Children are welcome from 8 am when this supports family needs. Until Year 9, homework is entirely done at school, after lessons—not at home.
Modular and equipped with flexible furnishings, our classrooms are adapted to our educational approach to encourage cooperative work whilst respecting individual working times.

Extracurricular activities

Clubs and extracurricular activities are open to all children, whether or not they are enrolled at Émilie du Châtelet, after school, on Wednesday afternoons, Saturdays, and during school holidays. These accessible, quality activities are part of our overall plan to help children find fulfilment and success at school. From September 2020, children will be able to receive extra school support, join our computer club, music school, chess school, amongst many other cultural and artistic activities.
